Helena and Will’s romantic winter wedding at St Tewdrics House in Wales was the perfect way to begin the 2026 season. St Tewdrics House is a luxury Italianate villa wedding venue in Chepstow, set in picturesque Welsh countryside with gardens, ceremony spaces and elegant reception areas. With crisp February air, soft golden light and a timeless black tie aesthetic, it was a day filled with emotion, elegance and beautifully natural moments — everything I love as a UK wedding photographer.
Getting Ready at St Tewdrics
The morning began at St Tewdrics House, where Helena got ready alongside her bridesmaids. It was such a calm, joyful atmosphere, but one of the most meaningful moments of the morning was when Helena chose to step away for a quiet, intimate moment with her mum to put on her dress. These slower, more personal moments are always so special to capture — the ones that often mean the most.
Helena’s dress was the epitome of understated elegance — a stunning satin halter neck gown that felt both modern and timeless. It perfectly complemented their black tie vision, softened beautifully with delicate hints of pink woven throughout the styling.
A Romantic Ceremony at St Tewdrics Church
Helena and Will said their vows at St Tewdrics Church, surrounded by their closest family and friends. The ceremony felt incredibly warm and personal — a true reflection of them both and the people they hold closest.
Drinks Reception at St Tewdrics House
Afterwards, everyone made their way back to St Tewdrics House where the celebrations continued. Drinks flowed between the house and courtyard, creating a relaxed, social atmosphere as guests gathered and enjoyed the setting. One of my favourite personal touches from the day was the beer Helena and Will had brewed themselves with a friend before the wedding — such a fun and meaningful detail that their guests absolutely loved.
Couple Portraits at St Tewdrics House
We took some time during the reception to capture family portraits and a few couple portraits at the front of the house — one of my favourite spots at St Tewdrics. It’s such a timeless backdrop and always works beautifully, whatever the season.
Speeches Full Of Personality
The speeches brought so much energy into the day — full of laughter, personality and plenty of inside jokes. With both Helena and Will being doctors (and many of their guests in the medical field too), there were lots of stories from their time in medical school that had everyone laughing.
Golden Hour Winter Portraits
As the day moved into evening, we made the most of the final 20 minutes of daylight to step away for a few more intimate portraits. This is always something I love to build into a wedding day — giving couples a quiet moment together after dinner, away from the noise, while guests relax and socialise. Even in the shorter winter days, these moments are always worth it.
Sparklers & Evening Celebration
As night fell, the celebrations continued with sparklers lighting up the evening, followed by a packed dance floor and the best atmosphere to round off the day.
It truly was the perfect wedding to kick off the 2026 season — relaxed, stylish, and full of so much love.
